Cricket fans were left disappointed on Tuesday evening as persistent rain forced the seventh match of PSL 11 between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi to be called off. Despite the ground staff’s best efforts to dry the field, the conditions at the stadium remained unplayable, leading officials to abandon the game 30 minutes before the official cut-off time.
The rain began just as the toss was scheduled to take place at 6:30 pm. While there were brief moments where the downpour eased, the outfield had already become too waterlogged to allow for even a five-over match.
With the points split, Peshawar Zalmi has officially moved into the second spot on the leaderboard with a total of three points from two matches. Babar Azam’s side continues to show steady momentum, even with the weather disruption.
On the other hand, this marks the first point for the three-time champions, Islamabad United. The result pushes them up to sixth place, just ahead of RawalPindiz, as they look to find their rhythm in the tournament.

Both teams will now shift their focus to their upcoming fixtures. Islamabad United is set to take on the Quetta Gladiators on April 4, while Peshawar Zalmi will travel to Karachi to face the tournament debutants, Hyderabad Kingsmen, on April 8.
While the fans didn’t get to see a contest on the pitch, the race for the playoffs is already heating up, and every point shared could prove crucial as the league progresses.
