When it comes to keeping our food safe, the Islamabad Food Authority (IFA) is not messing around. In a recent performance review meeting, chaired by Director Irfan Nawaz Memon, some jaw-dropping numbers were thrown on the table.<\/p>\n

Brace yourselves…a whopping 24,137 operations have been conducted across Islamabad!<\/h2>\n

And if you thought that was the end of it, think again. Out of these operations, 9,346 food outlets were hit with improvement notices. Yes, that\u2019s right, over nine thousand eateries were told to up their game.<\/p>\n

The Acting Deputy Director Operations, Aneeq Anwar, laid out the full scoop in the authority\u2019s performance report.<\/p>\n

Fines totaling a massive Rs. 14.36 million were slapped on 804 establishments for not sticking to health standards<\/h2>\n

And for those thinking they can get away with selling dodgy products, beware, 172 outlets were sealed for peddling harmful items. It’s like Islamabad’s food scene is in the middle of a reality TV show, and the IFA is the strict judge that won’t hesitate to hit that buzzer!<\/p>\n

But it’s not all about shutting things down. The IFA is on a mission to bring order to the chaos, issuing licenses to 107 food points in the city. This move is all about formalizing the food industry, making sure everyone plays by the rules.<\/p>\n

And if you’re thinking of ignoring those rules, know that the IFA is listening to the public too.<\/p>\n

They’ve taken action on 477 citizen complaints, filing 15 legal cases!<\/h2>\n

Basically, if your food joint is acting shady, someone\u2019s probably already reported it, and the IFA is on the case.<\/p>\n

Aneeq Anwar isn\u2019t holding back either. He\u2019s calling on the public to help spot illegal food production units operating in residential areas.<\/p>\n

The goal? Ensuring top-notch food safety across the Federal Capital.<\/p>\n

And speaking of cracking down, there’s now a complete ban on the sale of Chinese salt and gutka!<\/h2>\n

Director Irfan Nawaz Memon doubled down on the authority’s commitment to creating a healthier environment for Islamabad’s citizens. He made it clear that the IFA won\u2019t tolerate any negligence when it comes to food safety.<\/p>\n
