A Statue of Liberty Replica Has Mysteriously Popped Up On Jeddah’s Corniche

A replica of the Statue of Liberty seemed to have almost mysteriously popped up in Jeddah earlier this week and left people just a little bit confused.

Photos and videos of the statue circulating very quickly began circulating social media

It was evident that the statue was set up for what seemed to be an event at Jeddah’s waterfront. And people were intrigued.

 Most thought the timing (just around 4th of July – America’s Independence Day) was interesting

Jeddah Municipality quickly followed through with statements to clarify that it was – as expected- part of the ongoing Jeddah Seasons festivities.

“The statue of Liberty, currently located on Al Hamra Corniche, is part of a temporary event and will be removed as soon as it ends. (Urgent),” read one municipality statement.
