Art for Al Balad was organised by the Ministry of Culture in partnership with Christie’s, and included more than 40 works of contemporary Middle Eastern art that were generously donated for the sale by collectors, artists, and gallerists.
The art offered in the auction was exhibited for two days prior to the sale, with hundreds of local residents and visitors descending on the historic Nassif House and attracted quite a crowd.
But Al Balad is not just a place that is increasingly becoming a hub for art-lovers, there is something going on for just about everyone
Currently, there is an open-air cinema, a scavenger-hunt, and a bunch of other activities going on.
