The Jeddah Historic District Program has just unveiled the incredible findings of their archaeological digs at the Othman bin Affan Mosque, and it’s like stepping into a time machine!

These digs unveiled a treasure trove of artifacts dating back nearly 1,200 years!

According to these pictures released by the Saudi Press Agency on Monday, the mosque’s history reads like a gripping novel! Featuring countless renovations, changes in elevation, and even an underground water system, it is overflowing with history! Archaeologists stumbled upon crystal-clear water tanks left untouched for almost 800 years. This place wasn’t your normal place of worship, but many builders put in their hard work in the detailing, decor, and unique architecture!
