Can Saudi’s Jeddah Tower really top the Burj?

So, it looks like Saudi Arabia are planning to top the Burj Khalifa and build a tower 1km in length (very tall aspirations indeed). The Burj Khalifa measures 829.8m in length so this new tower will be 170.2m taller than our current Guinness World Record holder. This Jeddah tower is said to be costing $2.2 billion and will be completed by 2020.
