Saudi Arabia being the host country of the holiest sites in Islam come with a huge responsibility. The responsibility not only entails ensuring that the preservation of these sacred sites is continuously looked out for, but that the pilgrims, the millions of pilgrims that travel to the Kingdom leave with a positive experience.

It’s not the easiest job to ensure the wellbeing of more than TWO million pilgrims arriving in Jeddah during the Hajj season alone, but in my opinion, the Kingdom seems to be attaining to their more than well.

Everyone in Saudi, collectively, does their part to make sure pilgrims are honoured for their efforts

For some Muslims, coming to Saudi Arabia and making their pilgrimage in the holy city of Mekkah may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. For generations, certain families have been known to save up their entire life just to get to come to the Kingdom and participate in Hajj.

And so the Kingdom, its government, authorities and even the people who live here (both expat and local) have a silent responsibility to welcoming all pilgrims with open arms. It’s part of a beautiful unspoken and collaborative process that comes from nothing but goodness.

The Kingdom has expanded exponentially on facilities this year to ensure more comfort for pilgrims

As Vision 2030 approaches, the Kingdom is moving at a faster rate in terms of progression. This year alone, we’ve seen authorities focus on ways to enhance the pilgrims’ experience during their stay in Makkah. There are now double-decker multilingual buses that allows pilgrims to tour Makkah’s holiest sites, new train services between Arafat and Medina and even 18,000 staff members from the Civil Defence to ensure the safety of pilgrims all over the mosque during Hajj.

But what’s really most beautiful is the shared kindness from human to human

The fact that all Muslims from all over the world, of whom speak different languages and come from an array of cultures- coming together as one. It’s the most indescribable form of peace that one can really feel when they’re in Saudi.

The best part about all of this is that the Kingdom’s efforts have resulted into individuals and even companies to do their part for pilgrims

It seems everyone has clocked in this year as more and more initiatives were brought as a result of the shared generosity from the Kingdom’s authorities. Helping out our fellow brothers and sisters who are in the Kingdom to worship Allah doesn’t have to come in large forms, even the smallest acts of kindness go a long way.

A beautiful campaign has come up under the supervision and implementation of the Social Development Committee in Jeddah to give 10,000,000 bottles of water to pilgrims during the Hajj season.
