5 Of The Best Nature Spots In Jeddah

Avatar

From picturesque lakes to hidden forests and otherworldly landscapes, Jeddah has a diverse range of natural wonders waiting to be discovered. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast or simply seeking a peaceful escape, these destinations promise to leave you in awe.

1. Lake Arbaeen

Right before the main entrance to Albalad lies a charming park near the car park. This beautifully landscaped park is not only for those excited to take in sweeping views of Jeddah’s old town, but look on the other side, and here are some of the best views that one gets of the Arbaeen Lake. The sunset views are majestic when the nearby Juffali mosque and the old city are awash in the colours of the fading sun.

2. Jeddah Forest

The eastern Jeddah Forest is a hidden gem—yup, there are no signboards leading up to it, and despite it being a vast oasis of green, it lies almost hidden in plain sight just off the new Jeddah Makkah highway. Entry is free, and once inside this free zone, you’ll be transported from Jeddah’s bustling streets to an oasis of peace and serenity. It’s about 30 km away from the city, but seeing the perks, you can say it’s not too bad of a deal, huh?

3. Salt Field

After crossing Al Saif Beach, keep your eyes peeled, for on the left, you’ll come across a plain that sparkles. Look closely, and you’ll find that the whole place is filled with salt crystals.

4. Moon Valley

The lunar-like landscape of Moon Valley is pure Instagram gold. You can pack your camping gear along and camp here for the night, as it’s not just the lunar-like landscape that the place is famous for, but look above and you’ll find yourself staring at the starlit Arabian night sky.

5. Allith Hot Springs

The place lies above 200 km to the south of Jeddah, and here hot springs gush from the ground. The springs have transformed the entire expanse into a green wonderland. Locals claim that this water has medicinal benefits and hence many are seen bottling galloons of the water to take back with them.
