March 20th marks ‘World Happiness Day’ and today’s the day to celebrate. Get your serotonin levels up with these 5 happy headlines that will have you smiling throughout the day!

5. Saudi ranked among the top countries for digital transformation

The Kingdom has been ranked second among twenty countries and fourth globally in its readiness of digital systems by the UN’s International Telecommunication Union. This was all thanks to Saudi’s outstanding performance in building sustainable regulatory frameworks and to empower the digital economy 👏.

4. Saudi’s entertainment sector welcomed more than 120 million visitors since 2019!

Saudi has only been taking off since events like Riyadh Season, Jeddah Season, the Saudi Arabian GP, MDL Beast, AlUla Nights, and many more have launched! The Kingdom has welcomed millions of tourists over the years. Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority, Turki Al Al-Sheikh, that the entertainment events received more than 120 million visitors since 2019, until the first quarter of 2023.

3. The Kingdom is looking to build multiple circuits around the country

 

President of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, Prince Khalid bin Sultan Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal, stated how they are working on building small race circuits around Saudi Arabia’s cities. He told Saudi Gazette that the circuits will cover areas in academies and schools to teach racing. There will also be a permanent circuit for motorcycles and cars in Qiddiya!

2. Children will now receive wrist bands to avoid getting lost at the two Holy Mosques

The Two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Medina can get quite crowded, especially during Ramadan Season. Children tend to get misplaced or lost during their visit, and the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has found a solution. The officials have been distributing colored wrist bands that display the name of the child and the contact information for their guardians.

1. People have begun planting trees for the ‘urban greening’ at Al Jazeera

Located in the Eastern region of Riyadh, Al Jazeera will soon be blooming in green thanks to the latest ‘Green Riyadh’ initiative. The Al-Jazeera phase will plant 39,000 trees and shrubs, create 11 parks, provide green surroundings to 37 mosques and ‎14 schools, and also cover around 36 km of roads with trees!
