Jeddah’s New Drinking Water Stations Are An Ode To Old Times
Four new public drinking water and ablution stations have been launched in Jeddah and they are a nod to the city’s history.
The stations are designed with the inspiration of the city’s historical water supply systems in mind
Before the city had a running water supply network, the main source of water was huge tanks located around the city.
A ‘water man’ would collect water from the stations and distribute them to neighborhoods.
The new stations are designed keeping those water tanks as inspiration
The project is by the King Abdul Aziz Endowment of Ain Al-Aziziah.
