A New High Speed Train In Saudi Will Take You From Makkah To Medina In 2 And A Half Hours

A new high speed train, the Haramain Express train, is set to complete by late 2017 and will start operations in by next year. The Makkah Region Development Authority announced the completion of the field work on the train. 

The Haramain Train will transport people between Jeddah and Makkah in 21 MINUTES! 

It will also go from Makkah to Madinah through Jeddah, in less than 2 and a half hours. Bringing to the Kingdom, a faster and more convenient mode for pilgrims or travellers to reach their destination. The project is almost complete with 35 trains fully-equipped with all the facilities- with 417 seats per train available. 

The station is 3km away from the Grand Mosque in Makkah

Here’s where the stations will be located:

  •  Rabigh station is near King Abdullah University for Science and Technology (KAUST)
  • Two stations in Jeddah: Sulaymaniyah in the center and King Abdul Aziz International Airport 
  • Makkah station is at the main entrance in Al- Rusaifah
