Saudi Twitter Is Baffled Over A Video Of A Man Who Walked With His Wife In Her Wedding Dress By Jeddah’s Corniche

Avatar

A recently married couple is receiving a lot of heat online for a video that has already been seen more than 75,000 times, since its upload on Friday. The video shows a groom and a bride, in her wedding gown, crossing the street to Jeddah corniche while some of their wedding attendees cheered them on.

Since it’s been uploaded, the video has been retweeted more than 100 times, many from people who felt happy for the couple but most from angry conservatives. We all know Saudi Twitter can be entertaining, daunting and sometimes quite savage when it comes to opinions, and this is probably another example of that..

The bride and groom walking towards Jeddah Waterfront…

Strong opinions against the act have sprung out of the video’s comments section

Like user @Ali103347’s comment, “This man has no shame and doesn’t know values, he has something wrong in the head. Cover up your wife and protect your honor, May God forgive you, this is obviously wrong are you even a Muslim?”

others worried about the world’s well-being

“You people, the world is messed up now”
“Utterly ridiculous, have some shame on your wife and yourself”

However, a lot of people also defended the couple and the act altogether…

“God bless every husband who tried to give his wife whatever she wants, even the simplest things that make her happy”
“I say why is this anyone’s business? It’s their life”

This user, though a little off-topic, chimed in the comment section too

“The bride’s make-up is not nice”

Good input, we could really see her make-up in that video. LOL.

Not all heroes wear capes

“This is very normal. Anything new pops up, people start criticising. Let them live and they can actually change the routine of marriages here in the kingdom. We need to change and evolve.”
