After Saudi security forces arrested the perpetrator of the knife attack at the French consulate’s security guard, the Saudi police, additional measures have been taken to ensure the safety of all.
Photographers and journalists have noted that there are now additional Saudi police cars patrolling the French Consulate’s compound in Jeddah now.

The incident followed rising tensions in France after Charlie Hebdo, a French satire magazine, drew cartoons that disrespected the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). Saudi Arabia has denounced the cartoons but is also calling for peace and condemning any act of terror acted in retaliation.
