Saudi residents heads-up, look out for this moon this Friday.

According to the Saudi Gazette, residents of Saudi Arabia will witness a total lunar eclipse on the 27th of July.

A total lunar eclipse basically occurs when the Earth completely blocks direct sunlight from reaching the Moon.

It will be the second lunar eclipse of the year, but what makes this one special is that it will be the longest lunar eclipse of the 21st century.

And, that’s not it, it will also be the first central lunar eclipse since 2011.

In Riyadh and Jeddah, the total lunar eclipse is expected to begin at 10:30 p.m. and is expected to go on post-midnight till 12:13 a.m. on Saturday.

This will also be the last total lunar eclipse of the year with the next one expected to take place on the 21st January 2019.
