YAAY: Saudi Forces Rescue Iranian Oil Ship Off The Coast Of Jeddah

Lives of 26 crew members on board the oil tanker were saved by the heroics of the Saudi forces.

According to Arab News, the oil tanker, Happiness I, suffered an engine failure and the loss of control while making its way through the Red Sea. It was located some 70 km to the south west of Jeddah when it sent a distress call.

The Saudi Coast Guard along with other government agencies carried out the rescue operation.

Aboard the tanker were 26 crew members, 24 of whom were Iranian and the remaining two hailed from Bangladesh.

The oil tanker is believed to have carried at least 1.1 million barrels of fuel oil as per online portal TankerTrackers.com

It is still not known whether there was an oil leak nor has there been any incident report from Iran’s side at the time of writing this article.
