Getting a death certificate in Sindh just got a whole lot easier—and cheaper! The Sindh cabinet has officially scrapped all fees for death certificates, making the process totally free for everyone across the province. This move is part of a bigger plan to make life’s paperwork less of a headache and more accessible for all.
Led by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, the cabinet decided that no one should have to pay for a death certificate—whether you’re dealing with the municipal office, union council, or town committee. The government will now pick up the tab for NADRA’s service charges, so you can get your official paperwork without spending a single rupee. It’s all about making things easier for families during tough times.

This wasn’t the only big news from the latest cabinet meeting. The government also banned tyre-burning plants to help clean up the air, rolled out a surrender policy for dacoits in riverine areas, and approved a wheat release plan to keep prices steady. Plus, they tweaked the Sindh Letters of Administration and Succession Certificates Act and Rules, 2021, making inheritance paperwork simpler and cracking down on false declarations with new penalties.
Even though the fee is gone, the application process is still pretty straightforward—and it’s going digital! You’ll need to gather your documents (like the medical certificate of death and NICs of heirs), fill out an online form, and do a quick biometric verification. The goal? To make sure families can focus on what matters, not paperwork. As CM Murad Ali Shah put it, this is all about making things “accessible, transparent, and people-friendly.”
