In a high-stakes encounter that lived up to the legendary rivalry, the Karachi Kings secured a thrilling four-wicket victory over the Lahore Qalandars on Sunday night. Chasing a target of 129, the Kings held their nerve to cross the line in 19.3 overs, silencing the home crowd in a game that swung back and forth until the final few deliveries.
Chasing a modest but tricky total of 129, Karachi’s pursuit was a masterclass in composure. Mohammad Wasim proved to be the backbone of the innings, top-scoring with a vital 38 runs that kept the required rate under control.
Supporting him was the young Saad Baig, whose steady 19 helped stabilize the middle order after early wickets. Veteran all-rounder Moeen Ali added a quick-fire 18, providing the necessary acceleration to take the game into the final over. Despite the pressure of the death overs, the Kings’ lower order stayed clinical, picking off the remaining runs to seal the win with three balls to spare.

Earlier, after being put in to bat, the Lahore Qalandars found it difficult to break free against a disciplined Karachi bowling attack. Abdullah Shafique was the standout performer for the home side, grafting a hard-fought 33, while Haseebullah Khan contributed a gritty 28.
However, the Qalandars’ power-hitters were largely kept in check. Sikandar Raza managed 19, but the early loss of Fakhar Zaman for just 1 run hampered their momentum from the start. A late push from Mohammad Naeem (13) helped push the total to 128/9, a score that initially looked defendable on a challenging surface but ultimately proved just short of a winning total.

The victory gives the Karachi Kings a significant psychological edge in the tournament standings, proving their ability to win under pressure in hostile territory. For the Qalandars, the focus will shift to finding more consistency in their top-order batting as the PSL 11 season intensifies.
