Pakistani television artist Saima Qureshi recently appeared on Rise and Shine, hosted by Nadia Khan, where she shared her refreshing perspective on embracing singlehood. The candid conversation offered a glimpse into her personal journey and the unexpected joys she’s discovered along the way.
For nearly two decades, Saima Qureshi has been a familiar face in Pakistani media. She has captivated audiences with powerful performances, especially in negative roles, across numerous dramas. She is also the cousin of renowned actor Faysal Quraishi.
Fans have loved her work in hit serials such as Ishq Beparwah, Ant ul Hayat, Nehar, Nikah, Juda Huwe Kuch Is Tarha, Amanat, Wafa Kar Chalay, Shahnaz, Bandhay Ek Dour Se, Nand, and most recently, Green Entertainment’s popular drama Duniyapur. After her divorce, Saima has embraced life as a single mother to three grown-up sons, proving that life begins at any stage.

During her chat with Nadia Khan, the host asked, “We have many single friends who seem very happy. How is it being single, and what problems do you face?”
With characteristic honesty, Saima Qureshi explained that being “completely single” comes with responsibilities, such as handling all household chores herself. She doesn’t have a father or brother to lean on. However, she quickly highlighted the positives, joking that women without a spouse might live longer due to a stress-free and peaceful life. She pointed out the absence of constant arguments or relationship pressures, making singlehood feel liberating.

Saima Qureshi elaborated on the liberating feeling of not being answerable to anyone. She enjoys making her own plans, spending time freely, and managing her schedule without external pressures. While single life isn’t “all good,” she believes it’s “better than many situations” because it significantly reduces stress. She clarified that freedom doesn’t mean constant partying but rather having autonomy over her choices and time.
Ultimately, Saima emphasized that like anything in life, being single has pros and cons. For her, the benefits of independence and peace currently outweigh the challenges, offering a positive perspective for many navigating singlehood.
