Shahood Alvi opens up about his role opposite Ramsha Khan in Ghisi Piti Mohabbat, describing a mix of humor and awkwardness while portraying a romantic lead to an actress who is the same age as his daughters. His reflections provide insight into casting dynamics and character adaptation in Pakistani television.
During his appearance on After Hours with Ushna Shah, Alvi recounted the specific scene where the casting led to on-set blushes. He admitted feeling “extremely embarrassed,” noting his concern about fans seeing him in a youthful romantic light. This candid insight gives a rare glimpse into the behind-the-scenes challenges faced by seasoned actors in Pakistan’s television industry.

Shahood Alvi, a celebrated actor and director, began his career as a boom operator at PTV alongside his uncle Iqbal Ansari. Over the years, he starred in hit dramas such as Makan, Bol Meri Machli, and Mera Saaein, gaining recognition for his versatility. Around seven years ago, Alvi intentionally transitioned to fatherly roles, choosing characters that better suited his age and screen presence.
Initially hesitant to play a romantic role opposite Ramsha Khan, Alvi worked with the director to modify the character. The role evolved into a “flirtatious older man who had a wife but liked another girl,” aligning with Alvi’s comfort level and experience while preserving the drama’s storyline. This adjustment highlights his professional approach to balancing narrative needs with personal suitability.
Alvi also reflected on career longevity, suggesting a hero’s “shelf life” in Pakistan rarely exceeds twenty years. He emphasized that actors continuing in youthful roles often do so “by force,” providing valuable commentary on age, typecasting, and evolving roles in the television industry.
