We got to speak with Eltahir, better known as LT Geeks, one of our favourite comedians and we got you his story! Check it out!

The rise of LT Geeks

Eltahir grew up between Khartoum and DMV for most of his childhood. He was born in the US and later moved to Sudan, where he stayed there until 2011. Eltahir is from AlShajarah, which has always been home for him

We asked LT Geeks what growing up was like, and as an only child, son of a primary school teacher, he moved around schools a lot in Khartoum. He describes himself as the class clown and as someone who always wanted to make people laugh, no matter where he was- even if he got in trouble in school!

LT Geeks spent his summers in the US with his cousins and for that reason going back to the states in 2011 did not feel abrupt. He completed his high school there and followed it up with a college career. He said he was never really going out of his way to learn about skits, but picked it up as he saw similarities in his upbringing and others, and would make skits inspired by moments from his or his friends’ lives.

We asked, how did you start making videos?

Making videos came naturally to him, and he really enjoys the process of making it with friends. They would be laughing throughout it and sometimes have to reshoot videos from how much fun the creative process is.

Eltahir is very passionate about Sudan and wants to show the world the similarities in family life, and every day happenings that people can relate to, and not just laugh, but also feel seen through his content.

Current projects

LT hosts halalwristpodcast with his friend, Kasim. Their podcast is open to any and all audiences, for people to come and talk about something they are passionate about. They also want to get their guests’ messages out to the world. The podcast is a very genuine and heartfelt. You should definitely check it out for some good conversation and laughs!

Who would you like to collab with in the future?

LT, being the warm hearted and social man that he is, is open to work with any and ALL Sudanese comedians! After pushing him for some names, he said:

Dooley, is someone who resonates with me as my type of funny, and I feel like it would be a great and really fun thing to do with him! Zol Saghel is also someone I would love to work with, I love his videos. If I am ever in Sudan I would love to do a show there, inshAllah!

Wouldn’t it be hilarious to see this in real life?
