Fighting For Freedom

In 2019, the Sudanese people managed to topple 30-year-long dictator Omar Al Bashir. Internationally, this was seen as a great win for the nation of the two Niles. Glorious characteristics were demonstrated by people of all tribes, ages, and professions.

The fight for freedom is indeed a long and troublesome one, however, history has shown repeatedly, and throughout the ages, that great nations are built from the ground up, and the importance that a vision for a better tomorrow holds heavyweight in the face of injustice, greed, and the disregard to the unceasing notion that all humans are born equal and hold the same amount of right to enjoy what life has to offer, dignified and happy.

United Above All

Wars are not won on battlefields but in minds and hearts.

Here, the Sudanese citizen holds a strong weapon that can, and will, if utilized correctly, and in synchronization with all fellow citizens, bring a positive outcome for the people of the country.

No amount of foreign intervention, finance, or military planning and tactics can shake the vision of a prosperous country, with strong educational institutions and state-of-the-art architecture, and technology.

Lesson From the Past

Today, we hear talks about the qualities and manners of the average Japanese citizen, the bright streets of Tokyo, and the advanced technology being used in the country, and being exported worldwide. Here, it is important to take a second to appreciate and acknowledge that in 1941 the Imperial Japanese Navy Air took a leap of faith in attacking the US Naval Base at Pearl Harbour in Hawaii with the hopeful objective of completely wiping out the American Pacific Fleet.

That attack brought Japan into war with the United States of America and marked the official date of World War II. Consequently, Japan suffered two nuclear bombings, in the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, it was disastrous, to say the least, thousands were killed in the initial blast and many more later succumbed to the radiation and poisoning. However, the Japanese demonstrated royal qualities in helping one another at times of distress and motivating each other that a brighter day ought to come – which has arrived for them.

The Destiny of Building a Brighter Home

Sudan is rich in human resources and history, standing tall with the highest number of pyramids in the world, and remnants of the 25th Egyptian Dynasty gloriously engraved in hieroglyphics in Meroë. The longest river in the world, The River Nile, flows through its soils, with more than 500 ethnic groups speaking more than 400 languages, inhibiting the land of Sudan.

Power is in the unity of thought and outcome, as well as recognizing that holding a solid stance and building a prosperous nation can never be done selfishly, as the average human’s life span is too short for that. Therefore the vision is held and pushed for generations to come, and the fight is for the happiness of humans you may, and will most probably never meet.

The world watches, some from up close, others from afar, as the people of Sudan continue on their mentally fuelled victories under extremely tough living conditions on a commonly shared idea, which is, a brighter day ought to come.

We sincerely hope that amidst these challenging and tumultuous times, Sudanese people are prioritizing self-care, and looking out for one another.

Stay resilient and faithful, Sudan.
