In response to soaring temperatures, the Ministry of Health (MoH) in South Sudan has just issued a statement emphasising the need for precautions due to the upcoming heatwave. The excessive heat, as a result of climate change, has led to noticeable health impacts, prompting authorities to take proactive measures.

South Sudan’s MoH has advised closing schools temporarily and encouraging parents to limit outdoor activities for children. Starting today, citizens have been advised to prepare for an extreme heatwave that is expected to last two weeks.

They also warned that any schools found open during this time, would have their registration withdrawn.
