Kuwait Updates Driver’s License Validity to 15 Years for Citizens, 5 for Expats

Kuwait has updated driver’s license validity periods, streamlining the process for various vehicle types and different resident categories across the country.

Different terms introduced for citizens and expats

This significant update introduced varying validity periods based on residency status. Kuwaiti citizens and GCC nationals can now enjoy a generous fifteen-year validity for their private driver’s licenses. Meanwhile, expatriates will receive a five-year period, ensuring a good timeframe before renewal is required, while stateless residents will find their license expiry linked directly to their civil ID expiry date.
