Women Made History

Back in 2009, kuwaiti women marked a significant milestone in the country’s democratic journey. Four women were elected to the national assembly for the first time, these women were dr. Massouma al-mubarak, dr. Aseel al-awadhi, dr. Rola dashti, and dr. Salwa al-jassar, selected from among 17 female candidates who contested the elections. Today, kuwait’s cabinet includes three female ministers.

Leadership Roles Expanded

Women now hold 28 percent of top governmental positions, showcasing their growing influence. Sectors such as diplomacy, security, oil, and justice have seen a doubling in female representation. This reflects a broader trend of women taking on more prominent roles in shaping kuwait’s future.
