Eid Prayers in North Al Batinah to Start Early Amid Rising Temperatures

As temperatures soar across Oman, the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs has issued a special circular asking imams in the North Al Batinah governorate to hold Eid prayers earlier than usual. To help worshippers avoid the intense midday heat, prayers will begin at 5:50 AM — yes, that’s bright and early!

This move aims to make the outdoor Eid Al Adha prayers more comfortable and safer for everyone attending, especially families and the elderly. It also reflects how the community is adapting to Oman’s increasingly hot climate while maintaining important traditions.

So if you’re planning to join the celebrations in North Al Batinah, set your alarm clocks early and get ready to pray with the sunrise. It’s a small change that makes a big difference when the mercury hits the high 40s!
