Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion has rolled out a suite of dynamic digital platforms, simplifying business processes and boosting investor confidence. This strategic move aims to create a more vibrant and streamlined economic environment, empowering both local and international players. It’s all about making Oman a top spot for effortless commercial ventures.
The Invest in Oman platform has become a game-changer, allowing visitors to dive into the nation’s investment landscape, discover attractive incentives, and explore industrial and free economic zones. Foreign investors can even use the Know Your Customer service to register and transact remotely, while an Investment Guide smooths out the commercial registration process with clear details on documents and fees.
The Ministry also launched Oman Exports and Made in Oman, two powerful platforms designed to supercharge the competitiveness of Omani products on both local and international stages. Oman Exports stands out as the world’s first interactive export-specialized platform, opening new avenues for industries to showcase their quality and innovation using smart digital tools. Meanwhile, Made in Oman, operational since February 2024, has already seen over five thousand products from three hundred eighty factories proudly bearing its mark, connecting small and medium-sized enterprises to supply chains and boosting national economic value.
The Maʿruf Oman platform has stepped up as a national registry for licensed e-commerce stores, building consumer trust and seeing a massive two hundred thirty-six point four percent increase in registered businesses. This platform, leveraging Artificial Intelligence, helps online stores expand their reach and customer base. Simultaneously, the Hazm Platform acts as a vital regulatory tool, ensuring product quality and encouraging innovation by requiring adherence to technical specifications. It has successfully registered twenty-one accredited conformity assessment bodies, reinforcing compliance with global standards for Omani goods.
These innovative platforms collectively streamline services and enhance efficiency, reflecting Oman’s ambitious journey toward a knowledge-based economy and digital society. Director General Mubarak Al-Douhani noted that digital transformation reduces costs and effort while improving flexibility and customer service. The Ministry continues to upgrade its electronic offerings with advanced infrastructure and performance indicators, ensuring these digital tools serve as smart engines for future economic growth, empowering youth and driving innovation for long-term national success.
