Rummana Event Brightened Jabal Akhdar’s Agritourism

The Rummana event in Jabal Al Akhdar recently returned for its third edition, aiming to boost agritourism and empower local communities. This popular seasonal festival offers a unique chance for visitors to connect with nature and enjoy fresh local produce, building on previous successful events.

A Thriving Tradition Continued

The third edition of the popular Rummana event kicked off on July four in the stunning Wilayat of Jabal Al Akhdar, nestled within the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate. This highly anticipated festival, organized in collaboration with TePe-Oman, Agritourism Development Company, and ‘Janaen’, built upon the incredible success of its predecessors. Last season alone, it attracted over fifty-one thousand visitors, saw forty-four small and medium-sized enterprises participate, and facilitated the sale of over ten thousand kilograms of fresh fruits from Jabal Al Akhdar.

Local Flavors And Experiences Offered

Visitors to the Rummana event enjoyed a diverse and delightful experience, highlighted by the vibrant Farmers Souq where fresh, local products were proudly displayed. The site also featured an array of local restaurants and cozy coffee shops, serving up a variety of traditional Omani dishes and other delectable foods. A particularly engaging activity allowed guests the unique opportunity for immediate picking of luscious pomegranates, figs, and pears during their peak harvest season, connecting them directly with the region’s agricultural bounty.
