Summer Sports Sparked Excitement at OCEC

The Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre brought back its popular Sports Spark event this summer, transforming its Exhibition Halls into a dynamic indoor sports hub. From July 18 to August 16, the venue offered a cool and engaging escape, inviting everyone to enjoy a wide array of activities.

A Spectacular Sports Showcase

Organized by the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre, this year’s program featured an exciting mix of activities. Attendees participated in football, basketball, pickleball, badminton, cricket, and even fast-growing e-gaming. This initiative highlighted OCEC’s continuous dedication to promoting healthy lifestyles and ensuring sports were accessible for everyone.

Building On Past Triumphs

Following the tremendous success of last year’s edition, which attracted over 30,000 participants and completely sold out, Sports Spark 2025 returned with an even wider range of options. The event aimed to boost fitness and wellbeing during the hot summer months by providing the community with access to high-quality, air-conditioned facilities and a diverse selection of sports.A group of people playing different sports inside an indoor facility with sports equipment

Accessible Fun For Everyone

Teams, individuals, and clubs were able to easily book facilities, with prices starting from just two Omani Rials per hour and multiple time slots available throughout the day. Parents also had the opportunity to register their children for a summer camp, with special early bird rates offered until July 5. Additionally, corporate groups could take advantage of special packages to give their employees access to the facilities, encouraging fitness and wellbeing in the workplace.

A Vision For Community Wellness

Commenting on the launch of the third edition, Engineer Said Al Shanfari, CEO of OCEC, emphasized the broader impact of the event. He stated that it was not just about transforming exhibition halls into a sports haven but about encouraging summer activity and promoting fitness across all age groups. For an entire month, OCEC became a place for people to play, move, and connect, offering summer camps for kids, corporate challenges, and various tournaments.
