The grand opening of Khuwair Square took place recently under the patronage of His Excellency Sayyid Saud bin Hilal Al Busaidi, the esteemed Governor of Muscat. The ceremony celebrated the culmination of efforts to create a dynamic urban hub.

Spanning a considerable area, the square boasts over nine thousand square meters of beautiful green spaces, perfect for unwinding. Visitors can enjoy dedicated walking and cycling paths stretching four hundred thirty-five meters, plenty of cozy seating areas, and a chic café featuring an open-air rooftop managed by talented Omani entrepreneurs. The inclusion of public facilities and parking ensures accessibility for everyone.

Omani Heritage Displayed

Paying homage to local culture, the design thoughtfully incorporates architectural elements reflecting Omani identity, such as classic Mashrabiya patterns. Materials like locally sourced Desert Rose marble and Nizwa stone add authentic touches. A prominent landmark within the square is a towering flagpole, reaching one hundred twenty-six meters high and supporting the impressive Omani flag.

During the inauguration, His Excellency Sayyid Saud bin Hilal Al Busaidi lauded the project as a wonderful addition to Muscat, beautifully blending tradition with modernity.
