Starting from the 1^st of October, cinemas can only employ Saudis. This comes after a directive by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD).

With new cinemas continuing to open around the country, this is new directive is bound to create a lot of jobs for Saudis.

The Saudi Gazette has reported that in addition to cinemas, similar directives have also been issued to the real estate sector. Up to 70% of real estate activities and professions will be localized, with 100% of the targeted professions (real estate brokerage, real estate marketing, owner’s association, sustainable construction and real estate arbitration) being localized.

The ministry has also stated that the decision affecting the two sectors will result in the creation of over 11,000 jobs for citizens.
