Completion Of NEOM’s First Chinese Enterprise Project Marks Milestone In City’s Development

Think back to October 2021 when China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) began work on an adit tunnel in NEOM, Saudi Arabia’s futuristic city.

Now, fast forward to today, and that project is officially complete! This marks the first big job by a Chinese company in NEOM, showing progress in the city’s development.

During construction, CRCC used new ideas to tackle the tough terrain, according to Tang Ming, CRCC’s Middle East deputy manager.

Barrymore Nicholls, the project manager, praised how well Chinese companies competed internationally on this project. He thinks they’ll have a bigger role in NEOM’s future.

NEOM, located in the Gulf of Aqaba and covering 26,500 square kilometers, shows Saudi Arabia’s big plans for a modern city that’s eco-friendly and prosperous.
