Oscar-winning director Terry George, known for his masterpieces like “Hotel Rwanda” and “In the Name of the Father,” is back with his latest project, a thrilling action feature called “Riverman”. And it will be shot right here in Saudi Arabia’s very own NEOM.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, NEOM’s mesmerising landscape will serve as the backdrop in this epic movie that’s based on gripping war diaries and true events of the war in Afghanistan, spanning the years 2001 to 2008.

The high-stakes adventure follows the story of a decorated Royal Marine who finds himself caught up in the treacherous world of arms dealing.

NEOM has already proven its cinematic prowess, having hosted the filming of Rupert Wyatt’s “Desert Warrior,” a star-studded production featuring the talents of Anthony Mackie and Ben Kingsley. It was also where Gerard Butler’s action flick Kandahar was shot.

But wait, there’s more! NEOM isn’t just a hotspot for Hollywood glamour. It has also captured the imagination of Bollywood.

Shahrukh Khan, the King of Bollywood himself, couldn’t resist the allure of NEOM, choosing it as a shooting locale for his upcoming film, “Dunki”.
