The futuristic city of NEOM is teaming up with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) to finalize plans for the worlds largest coral garden.

KAUST President, Dr. Tony Chan, explained how there are more than 300 species of coral in the waters of NEOM, with 1,000 different kinds of fish.

This gives them an opportunity to build a hub for research and development at the island, while promoting tourism for environmental enthusiasts.

The reef will be located in Shushah Island, covering 100 acres of land, by 2025.
