A Baby Died From Malnutrition In Gaza

A two-month-old Palestinian boy died of malnutrition in northern Gaza, according to media reports, only days after the United Nations warned of a “explosion” in child deaths caused by Israel’s attack on the besieged enclave.

Baby Mahmoud died in Al-Shifa Hospital after his family was unable to find milk and basic supplies.

A paramedic who helped Mahmud’s parents bring him to the hospital says, “We saw a woman carrying her baby, screaming for help. Her pale baby seemed to be taking his last breath.”

The paramedic says that they rushed Mahmud to hospital where he was taken to the ICU with acute malnutrition but didn’t survive.

Mahmoud’s death came as the Israeli government continues to allow humanitarian aid trucks from entering the North of Gaza

More than 500,000 Palestinians are still in Gaza City, in the northern Gaza Strip, where almost no food has been delivered since the beginning of the year, and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and the World Food Program (WFP) have both now suspended aid activities.
