A doctor In Gaza Received The Shattered Remains Of Her 9 Children While On Duty
A devastating scene unfolded at a Gaza hospital when a pediatrician received her own children, tragically killed in a strike. Nine out of ten of her young ones were lost in the incident, highlighting the severe impact on families in the region.
Tragedy Reached The Hospital
Palestinian pediatrician Doctor Alaa Al-Najjar faced a moment no parent should ever endure. On a Thursday, the bodies of nine of her children arrived at the hospital where she worked, casualties of an airstrike that hit their home. The children ranged in age from two to twelve years old.
Family Home Was Struck
The fatal strike targeted the family’s residence located in the Qizan Al-Najjar area, south of Khan Yunis. The bombing caused immense destruction, leveling the building and sparking a significant fire. Rescue teams later recovered the remains.
Lost Children And Injured Spouse
The civil defense teams tragically found the remains of nine family members among the rubble. Eight of the victims were children. The doctor’s husband, Doctor Hamdi Al-Najjar, also sustained critical injuries during the attack.
A Brief Absence Proved Fatal
Doctor Alaa and her husband had briefly left their home; she was heading to her workplace. Moments after Doctor Hamdi returned, the missile struck. The couple’s tenth child, Adam, survived the attack and is currently receiving intensive care alongside his injured father.
