In the latest Israeli siege on Gaza City’s Shujaiya neighborhood, young, innocent Muhammad Bhar faced a brutal end. After invading troops stormed his home, he was mauled by Israeli combat dogs and intentionally separated from his family, left to die alone.
Muhammad, a non-verbal disabled man, could only mutter “No, no, no” as the dog attacked, biting his chest and hand. His mother, Nabila, recalls the horrifying moment: “He was patting the dog’s head saying, ‘enough my dear enough,’ but the dog kept tearing at him while he bled.”

For seven agonizing days, Muhammad’s family begged the Red Cross for help, only to be told there was no cooperation. When his older brother Jebril finally returned home after the soldiers left, he found Muhammad’s decomposing body. The relentless bombardment had caused such destruction that they couldn’t even register his death or give him a proper burial.
Sadly, Muhammad’s story is not unique. Reports reveal that combat dogs are systematically used by the military to attack, intimidate, and maul civilians in Gaza and Israeli detention facilities. These horrifying incidents often go unnoticed by the world.
Muhammad’s tragic death highlights the extreme brutality faced by civilians during these attacks. His story, and many others like it, must be heard and remembered.
