The RAK Police General Headquarters confirmed that the radar settings on Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Road (that’s the Shamal–Al Rams stretch) have been officially set to 80 km/h. This update covers the route from the Emirates Road overpass—right by Shamal Wedding Hall and Dubai Distribution Library—heading towards Al Nakheel, including the intersection at Ibrahim Bin Hamad Obaidullah Hospital (aka Saif Bin Ghobash Hospital). Both directions are now locked in at 80 km/h, so no excuses!

Spot those blue highway signs? They’re your new best friends. The speed limit signs along the route clearly show 80 km/h (and yes, it’s written in both English and Arabic). The radar itself is set to catch anyone going over 101 km/h, so don’t try your luck! The police have made it super clear: stick to the posted limit and you’ll cruise right through without a hitch.
Stay safe, follow the signs, and enjoy the drive! And if you want to keep up with all the latest updates in RAK, don’t forget to download the Lovin app—it’s your go-to for everything happening in your city. Happy driving!
