Pebbles turned heads at 41

Meet Pebbles, the legendary pony who’s believed to be nearly 41 years old and living her best life at the shelter in RAK. She’s not just a local celebrity—she’s a survivor, rescued from neglect and now enjoying her golden years thanks to the shelter’s loving care. Alongside Pebbles, the shelter is home to 29 other horses and ponies, five donkeys, and a whopping 26 cats, all saved from tough situations.

Yasmin Sayed led the rescue charge

The magic behind the scenes? That’s Yasmin Sayyed, founder of Ride to Rescue and Horse to Soul. Yasmin’s journey began with her first rescue, a horse named Salambo, who was on the brink of death back in 2014. Salambo’s story sparked a wave of compassion, leading to a safe haven for many more animals who needed a fresh start. Yasmin and her team now care for 30 horses and one donkey, often taking in animals that others have given up on due to age or injury.

The shelter faced tough times

But it’s not all sunshine and pony rides. The shelter is facing some serious financial hurdles, with daily and monthly costs piling up and an account balance that’s dipped to just -DH 4.80. Yasmin has put out an urgent call for help—donations, sponsorships, visits, or even just spreading the word can make a world of difference. The community’s support is what keeps these animals safe, happy, and rolling in the dust (literally!).

So, if you’re looking for a way to make a real impact, now’s the time to join the Ride to Rescue family and help Pebbles and her pals keep trotting on!
