A Sick Cat Was Rescued During The Rain In RAK

From feeding time to full-on rescue mission in RAK

A heartwarming tale unfolded in Ras Al Khaimah recently when a compassionate individual, Mohammed Salimah, turned a routine act of kindness into a life-saving mission. What started as feeding street cats quickly became an urgent rescue operation for a tiny, struggling feline.

It all began when Mohammed Salimah was out doing his usual good deed, feeding the street cats in RAK. Amidst the familiar faces, he spotted a heartbreaking sight: a white, long-haired cat, clearly abandoned and in terrible shape.

This poor kitty was dirty, dishevelled, with a matted coat and a messy, possibly bloody, nose, its eyes irritated and barely open. With rain clouds gathering, Mohammed knew he had to act fast, even though he didn’t have a carrier on hand. The urgency was palpable as the first drops threatened to fall.

Through rain and bushes, the search for a soaked survivor

Without a moment’s hesitation, the resucer rushed home to grab a carrier, determined to save the ailing cat. Returning to the spot, he faced a new challenge: the rain had already started, turning the area into a wet, leafy maze.

It took him almost one hour of searching through the lush green bushes before he finally found the little one, now completely soaked and shivering. Its white fur was plastered to its emaciated body, and it looked utterly exhausted, seemingly surrendering to its sickness. This dedicated rescuer wasn’t about to let that happen.

From rain-soaked and fading to fluffy and fighting again

Straight from the rainy streets, Mohammed whisked the shivering cat to the vet, where it immediately began fighting for its life under treatment. The dedicated team, including the clinician worked tirelessly to bring the feline back from the brink.

Slowly but surely, the cat’s condition improved; its fur became cleaner, its eyes brighter, transforming from dull yellow-green to vibrant green.

Now, looking much healthier with fluffy white fur and alert eyes, this resilient cat is a testament to kindness. the rescuer, is now reaching out to the community, inviting anyone interested in adopting this beautiful survivor, helping with its vet bills, or supporting ongoing efforts like feeding street cats and TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) programs. A small action truly can save a life!
