Dubai Charity Safely Repatriates 44 Lucky Ghanaians Found Sleeping At A Satwa Park Back To Ghana
Finally, some good news to start the day amid all the 2020 chaos.
A group of Ghanian nationals that lost their jobs in Dubai due to the COVID-19 pandemic were previously reported to have been left homeless and were found sleeping at a park in Satwa with little to no money to survive on, are now on their way back home!!
Word got out of their struggle, lack of financial support and their inability to land a job due to many companies in Dubai imposing a halt on recruitment to reduce costs, and hearing this a Dubai-based charity, Dar Al Ber Society (Dabs) stepped in and offered 44 lucky Ghanaians their FULL support.
According to Khaleej Times, a ceremony was held at the charity’s headquarters in Dubai, on Thursday, July 16 where the Ghanaians were given the goodie bags before they headed to the Dubai International Airport for their repatriation flight by Emirates Airline back to Ghana. They are expected to land back in their home country at 1.35 pm local time today.
As well as helped them acquire clearance from the Dubai police and immigration.
Residents are still urged to follow precautionary measures including wearing masks and social distancing to continue to curb the spread of COVID-19.
