UAE Residents Will Need To Wait Until 2025 For USA Visa Appointments
If you’re planning a trip to the USA from the UAE, brace yourself for a waiting game. Visa appointment slots have become as rare as hen’s teeth, with the next available ones not popping up until 2025.
Visa experts here in the UAE predict that the waiting times might even get longer in the days to come. Several factors have joined forces to result in this delay. “The surge in visa applications post-Covid and the skyrocketing demand for travel after the pandemic are two major culprits”, as confirmed by a spokesperson from The Visa Guy.
The Visa Guy team reports that their office consistently fields in “more than 50 inquiries daily, encompassing requests for rescheduling USA appointments and seeking guidance on the USA visa renewal process.”
It’s not just a local woe; this delay in visa processing has gone global.
The demand for US travel visas has shot through the roof compared to the pre-pandemic days. Desperation has even led some to consider paying double for earlier appointments
If you’re gearing up to apply for a US visa, here’s a quick rundown:
- Determine the type of visa you need—whether it’s for business (B1 Visa) or tourism (B2 Visa)
- Next, figure out where to submit your application within the UAE
- Complete the online application form (DS-160)
- Pay the visa fee
- Secure an appointment for a US visa interview
- Compile all the necessary documents for your visa
- Lastly, attend the visa interview
