As the UAE has entered the 40 day mourning period, here’s what you can expect

Entertainment and radio shows will be cancelled and flags will be at half-mast as the country mourns

The mourning period began on May 13 and as all residents know, work is off until Tuesday, May 17.

If you’re out and about in the city, you can expect to see UAE flags at half-mast for 40 days. This action is done as a mark of respect for the leader.

As per the previous instances where the country mourns, radio stations played recitations of the Holy Quran or classical music, instead of regularly scheduled programmes. It might last for the 3 days or for the full 40.
