A UAE Council Member Said Girls Should Be Learning To Cook – Not Playing Rugby
A member of the UAE Federal Council has made remarks that schools should be teaching girls to cook, rather than allowing them to play rugby, it has been reported.
According to The National, a representative for Ras Al Khaimah, Salem Al Shehhi said that rugby is dangerous, while women aren’t being taught to cook.
He said: “This sport is considered one of the most dangerous sports and today girls are playing it in high school, whereas one of the most important skills to be taught in school has disappeared: cooking classes.”
Shehhi also said: “Once they graduate they can be perfect housewives, and well connected with their families.”
