{"id":909,"date":"2017-10-19T15:56:57","date_gmt":"2017-10-19T15:56:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lovin.co\/rak\/en\/shopping\/motorist-racks-up-an-astounding-aed-1-million-traffic-fines\/"},"modified":"2017-10-19T15:56:57","modified_gmt":"2017-10-19T15:56:57","slug":"motorist-racks-up-an-astounding-aed-1-million-traffic-fines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lovin.co\/rak\/en\/news\/motorist-racks-up-an-astounding-aed-1-million-traffic-fines\/","title":{"rendered":"Motorist Racks Up An Astounding AED 1 Million In Traffic Fines"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"c-adunit c-adunit--mpu\">\n<div id=\"mpu\" class=\"c-adunit__container\"> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>A careless driver in Ras Al Khaimah managed to collect AED 1 million in fines.<\/p>\n<p>The driver broke a number of road laws, including speeding, which all contributed to the hefty fine.<\/p>\n<h3>AED 1 million is the largest fine RAK police have issued in the last few years<\/h3>\n<p>The driver was caught committing the numerous violations by radar on the roads.<\/p>\n<p>A second motorist also managed to accumulate a hefty amount of fines, totalling AED 250,000, the second largest fine handed down to a driver in RAK.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3>Luckily for the drivers they were able to reduce their fines substantially<\/h3>\n<p>Thanks to RAK police the drivers were able to reduce their fines by \u00a050% as part of &#8216;Happiness Day&#8217; in March which saw motorists benefit from a reduction in traffic fines.<\/p>\n<p>The driver still had to pay over AED 500,000 which we imagine hurt his bank balance quite a bit.<\/p>\n<p>Both men have paid their fines in full.<\/p>\n<div class=\"c-adunit c-adunit--mpu_mid\">\n<div id=\"mpu_mid\" class=\"c-adunit__container\"> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A careless driver in Ras Al Khaimah managed to collect AED 1 million in fines.
