The penchant for world records<\/a> refuses to die down.<\/em><\/p>\n

The past week which marked the Saudi National Day festivities around the country was also a week for world records<\/a>. The events and extravagant fireworks lined up for the National Day were the kinds that were never seen before in the country. Here are four world records that were shattered last week.<\/p>\n

1. Largest Pyrotechnic Image<\/h3>\n

On the 88th<\/sup> National Day, Saudi Arabia created the largest national flag in the sky measuring 400 meters in length and 350 meters in width. 300 drones were used in the feat that earned the kingdom a Guinness World Records certificate.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

2. Largest Mug Cake Mosaic<\/h3>\n

Betty Crocker joined forces with retail giant Panda to bake the largest mug cake mosaic. The finished cake was unveiled at Jeddah\u2019s Al Andalus Mall on the Saudi National Day. The cake measured 112 sqm and comprised of 19,600 Betty Crocker mug cakes. After displaying the cake visitors to the mall were handed out pieces of the cake and the remaining was given to the Saudi Food Bank.<\/p>\n

3. Largest Bowl Of “Harees”<\/h3>\n

Saudi chef Mariam Al Ahmad made her way to the Guinness World Records by making the largest bowl of Harees. The traditional Arabian dish is made of meat and cracked wheat. The record was achieved at the Sofra Festival in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.<\/p>\n

4. Largest Camel Sports Festival In The World<\/h3>\n

This year\u2019s Crown Prince Camel Festival which ran for more than 40 days from Aug. 11 to Sept. 22, 2018, was awarded the Guinness World Records tag for the largest camel sports festival in the world. The festival saw 11,186 camels participating in 787 rounds of competition.<\/p>\n
