No Permit For Repeat Umrah: Saudi Restricts Umrah To One Trip During Ramadan

Hera Shabbir

Considering how Makkah and Madinah are one of the most visited cities not only in Saudi Arabia, but the world, the Kingdom’s Ministries have to put in the hard work to avoid all kinds of mishaps and overcrowding. The ministry recently announced a new regulation for the holy month of Ramadan, also the time where thousands of Muslims from around the world come to the two holy cities to spend the spiritual month.

The Hajj and Umrah Ministry has restricted Umrah trips to one per visit during Ramadan

Because people like to make the most of their visits from far away, pilgrims try and complete multiple trips during their time at the Grand Mosque. This has now however been limited to single umrah trips per-visit in the holy month of Ramadan.

Visitors can use the NUSUK application to get their time slots and permits

The NUSUK application is the ideal guide to your trip for a Holy Pilgrimage and helps with scheduling trips to the Prophet’s Mosque and Makkah Grand Mosque. Keep in mind however, there is no option on the app to change the Umrah appointment time, so make sure you make up your mind before booking. You can however delete their booking via the app well before the slot time, and can then issue a new permit in accordance with the availability.
