Robots sure are becoming an increasingly relevant part of  Saudi society. It started with Sophia becoming the first robot to get a country’s nationality and there is also just an endless amount of innovation happening in all fields in the country that are using robotics.

And now a restaurant in Saudi Arabia is using robots as waiters

A video has been going around the Internet that shows a restaurant in Riyadh where robots go around the eating area with trays that are to carry food to customers.

The humanoids also seem to be ‘dressed’ in what can pass as a waiter’s uniform

And while Saudi social media is completely obsessed with the video, the age-old debate over whether technology will be replacing humans or not – and of course, what that means for all of us.
