A Man Had To Be Taken To The Hospital After A Close Encounter With A Tiger At The Riyadh Zoo

A rather strange incident took place at Riyadh Zoo last weekend when a man came into a really close encounter with a tiger.

A Sudanese expat claimed to have fallen into a section where the zoo’s Bengali tiger is kept

Zoo workers immediately responded to the scene and fired sedation shots at the wild animal before successfully managing to pull out the resident.

The 24-year-old Sudanese expat claimed he got dizzy and fell into the closed-off area where he was attacked by a tigress. However, zoo workers and Riyadh Municipality have stated that the man did not fall into the area but intentionally jumped in.

Riyadh Zoo has two sets of metal pedestrian barriers that separate the viewers from the animals that well above the abdomen of an average-sized adult. There’s also the space of two people standing back to back between both barriers.

The man was taken to a local hospital where he’s being treated for a set of injuries.

An investigation has been launched into the incident.
