In the month of October, Breast Cancer Awareness month, it is important to shed light on how essential it is for women to get a check up for Breast Cancer, because early discovery of the disease is the key to recovery.
Zahra Breast Cancer Association was established in 2007 in Saudi Arabia. Their main goal was to raise awareness against Breast Cancer in the Kingdom and to give support to affected breast cancer patients and survivors, and they continue to go through this journey till this day.
Last week, Prince Faisal bin Bandar and Princess Haifa bint Faisal bin Abdul Aziz, president of Zahra Breast Cancer Association, have launched a new awareness campaign for the month of October 2020, called “Al-Afu Wal Afiyah” in which translates to “Pardon and Wellbeing”, to be the title to raise awareness about importance of breast cancer checkups to women living in Saudi Arabia.

Princess Haifa bint Faisal bin Abdul Aziz, president of Zahra Breast Cancer Association, explained how this campaign will shed light on four main factors.
Firstly, correcting all misconceptions about breast cancer that could affect the process of discovery and recovery.
As well as, emphasizing on the importance of the role of the surrounding environment of women, and how it’s essential to raise awareness among women for checkups to be a part of their regular lifestyle, and encouraging early checkup for breast cancer in particular.
Then lastly, the important role of survivors of breast cancer on sharing their stories for others to learn and get inspired from their experiences.
