The Saudi Ministry of Culture launches Daw’ Film Competition to support the Saudi films among the quality of life program, one of the Saudi vision 2030 achieving programs

The competition is to empower the active national talents in the film making sector through 4 tracks including, supporting and developing scriptwriting, and supporting film production. In addition to supporting Saudi students who are studying filmmaking in international universities and institutes

Daw’ Competition

The Saudi ministry of culture has provided a platform to fund and finance Saudi films with prizes up to SR40 million, following a working program including pre-production and post-production

The competition is set to support the filmmakers and to provide the necessary assistance to produce their films under-recognized standards

It also aims to motivate local film production, which will help to establish a production infrastructure and clear professional paths for film professionals from different specializations in the filmmaking sector in the kingdom

Daw’ Competition for films support is divided into 4 main tracks including, completed scripts which provides full or partial funding to produce the film, script under development which provides support for writing the full script and produce the film, Saudi filmmaking students which supports students who are majoring in filmmaking abroad, and complete films which supports produced Saudi films that need help in distribution, presentation and local and international participation

This competition considered the largest of its kind to support Saudi films, as it will provide total support of SR 40 million, to support 35 Saudi cinematic projects for long and short films, which will be produced after the competition. The competition’s film balance will be added to the emerging Saudi Cinema balance till date
